Kingsteignton Ath 0 Upton Athletic 4
Taken from www.sdfl.org.uk) Upton Athletic finished off 2008 looking unstoppable at the top of the Premier Division. Following their 4-0 win yesterday at Kingsteignton Athletic, they now find themselves eleven points clear of their nearest rivals East Allington United. Ian Bastow scored twice for Upton, which were added to by Lee Chamberlain, and Steve Northcott.
Newton Spurs 3rds 1 Kingsteignton Res 2 AET
Kingsteignton took the lead after 30 minutes Graham Disbury getting his ninth of the season by slotting the ball low into the corner, Spurs came back into the game and equalised through some poor defending but a good finish. The second half both teams battled hard but no one really tested either keeper, extra time saw both sides attacking hard, and tired legs all over the pitch Spurs had a goal disallowed after 110minutes due to offside, just when it seemed the game was going into penalties Alan Froom outjumped the spurs centre back and latched onto a Graham Disbury cross, Kingsteignton Will now face either Galmpton United, Kingskerswell & Chelston, Buckland Athletic or Hele Rovers in the semi finals.

Kingsteignton Athletic 1 Harbertonford 1
The game started well for both teams, kingsteignton had good possession but never troubled the fords keeper, Harbertonford struck, mid way through the first half a decent finish, the linesman had his flag up but the referee over ruled the decision Kingsteignton switched off expecting to get the decision. Harbertonford continued to press and played some good football at times, The second half started much as the first half ended Harbertonford could have scored 2 or 3 but for good goalkeeping from Russell Faulkner and poor shooting from numerous Harbertonford players, Kingsteignton equalised 10 minutes from time, Richie Edwards pass through to Graham Disbury who slotted under the keeper, Kingsteignton could have made it 2-1 but for some good goalkeeping 3 minutes from time. A decent result from two teams who have not hit top form yet in the league, a good far contested match.

Kingsteignton Res 5 Dartmouth 3rds 2
Kingsteignton went into the game as heavy underdogs even though Dartmouth are a division below, Kingsteignton started brightly and had Dartmouth on the backfoot from the off, Dartmouth took the lead in the 10th minute from a direct freekick just outside the box, a strike low and hard into the bottom corner which went straight through the Kingsteignton wall. Kingsteignton equalised through Graham Disbury a great lobbed strike from outside the box Kings went two up after 18 minutes Ashley Beetschen slotting the ball into the net from some good work from the right wing. 25 minutes into the game it was 3-1 Graham Disbury latching onto a long from Joe Edworthy another lob from a difficult angle. Kingsteignton went 4-1 up before the break a decent finish from Alan Froom. The second half Dartmouth came more into the game Kingsteignton still pressed hard and were awarded with a fifth goal, from Luke Bates a fantastic individual goal which saw Luke take on 5 or 6 Dartmouth players before coolly slotting beyond the keepers reach. Dartmouth got a goal back after some good pressure Curtis Beetschen lashed the ball into the back of his own net the game finished 5-2. Kingsteignton will now play Newton Abbot Spurs 3rds in the quarter finals other games include Staverton & Landscove Res vs Kingskerswell & Chelston, Galmpton Gents 3rds vs Brixham United Res, Hele Rovers Res vs the holders Buckland Athletic 3rds.

Kingsteignton Ath Res 0 Teign Village 4
A tough affair for both teams with tackles flying in, Village took the lead after 10 minutes a good strike from inside the box, Kingsteignon had the chance to equalise Graham Disbury hitting the post with a fantastic chip. Teign Village doubled there lead after some poor defending from a corner by Kings. Kingsteignton were awarded a penalty in last minute of the half after Luke Bates was brought down, a good save low to his right but a poor penalty from Joe Edworthy. Kings started brightly in the second half but found themselves three down within 10 minutes of the restart, Teign Village got the fourth in the last minute of play a penalty awarded after Joe Edworthy handled the ball on the Kingsteignton Goalline.
Galmpton Gents 1 Kingsteignton Ath 0
Kingsteignton Athletic could not re-inact there heroics from last week and with that missed the chance to go second in the premier division, the game was settled by a solitary strike from Dan Rogers.

Kingsteignton Ath 3 Okehampton Argyle 1

GARETH LAW hit a hat-trick as Kingsteignton Athletic stunned South West Peninsula Division One East side Okehampton Argyle to make it through to the fourth round of the Devon Premier Cup. Law gave Kingsteignton an early lead, and although Okehampton equalised after 35 minutes, the former Torquay United strikermade sure of victory with two second-half strikes on Saturday. After the impressive 3-1 win, Athletic secretary Philip Baker said: "I don't think they underestimated us or anything like that –we just beat them fair and square."
Kingsteignton will be at home in the next round of the competition to South West Peninsula Division One highflyers Appledore after there 3-1 victory against Stoke Gabriel. Other fixtures include; Bovey Tracey v Vospers OV | Bickleigh v Brixham Villa |Totnes & Darts v Boca Seniors or KK & Chelston
HMPS Channings Wood 1 Kingsteignton Res 2
Kingsteignton Athletic reserves travelled to Prison side Channings Wood, for the first fifteen minutes the prisoners dominated possession but Kings showed better organisation than in recent weeks and were resolute. Channings Wood took the lead after 25 minutes through Woods skipper Aaron Cole a good strike from just outside the box that took a deflection on its way to give keeper Russell Faulkner no chance to re-adjust in mid air, The goal seemed to spur Kings on who looked dangerous with Ashley Beetschen Causing problems on the right flank. Kingsteignton equalised in the 32nd minute, Graham Disbury slotting the ball into bottom corner of the net from a Joe Edworthy through ball. Disbury struck again 8 minutes later this time a great solo effort to tuck the ball into the back of the net. The second half was one sided Channings Wood piled on the pressure after influencial captain Neil Rooke was forced off the pitch due to injury. Kingsteignton held on for the victory.

Chudleigh Ath 3 - Kingsteignton Reserves 1
Kingsteignton travelled to Chudleigh and dominated the first half Graham Disbury hit the post inside the first ten minutes and scored a great lob after 20 minutes, Kingsteignton could have added to there one nil lead but failed to test the goalkeeper, the second half, was a completely different match, Chudleigh really improved there game and Kingsteignton were penned into there own half, Lee French scored a fantastic goal which was ruled out for offside, some poor refereeing decisions didnt help Kings cause, luckily for Kingsteignton, they play Chudleigh in a week's time in the league where they will aim to exact revenge for this defeat.
Kingsteignton Ath 6 - Riviera Spurs 3
Kingsteignton Athletic raced into a 2 - 0 lead goals from Matt Joy and Gareth Law saw Kings infront, Kingsteignton could have made it 3-0 unfortunately Matt Joy had his spot-kick saved, Spurs came back into the game and equalised through some sloppy defending, conceding two quick goals seemed to make Kingsteignton come back to life and inspired Gareth Law into sensational form scoring 4 more goals to make the final score 6-3 Kingsteignton turn there attentions to there first major league test against Kingskerswell and Chelston on saturday.

Ashburton Res 3 - Kingsteignton Res 4
In a game which could have gone either way, Kingsteignton Athletic have progressed into the third round of the Fred Hewings Cup, Steve Law opened the scoring after 10 minutes after charging down a keepers clearance, Ashburton equalised through a great freekick after 25 minutes, and then went ahead due to some sloppy defending from kings'. Neil Rooke equalised just before the break a shot from 30 yards which the keeper paried into his own net. Kingsteignton started the second half much better than they finished the first, Curtis Beetschen and Steve Law worked hard to make openings and Kingsteignton began to pass the ball with more urgency. Ashburton took the lead against the run of play after 55 minutes, Neil Rooke bag his brace after 70 minutes a goal which was almost identical to his first, with the game seamingly going to extra time Ashburton had one last attempt to steal the game a volley from just inside the box which was saved superbly by Russ Faulkner at full stretch. Kingsteignton sealed the game in the 91st minute Graham Disbury scoring a fantastic trade mark lob from a acute angle a finish that was worthy to win any game.

Kingsteignton Athletic travelled to Herald Cup holders Hele Rovers in an all premiership 2nd round clash, Hele looked like a team who desperately wanting to retain there trophy, the game finished 3-1 to Hele Rovers with Matt Joy scoring Kings' only goal a subline volley from between 25 - 30 yards.

Kingsteignton Ath 2 - Shamwickshire Rovers 1
Kingsteignton played hosts to Shamwickshire Rovers in the second round of the Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup, the first half was played cagily by both sides neither sides really threatened each others goal, one highlighht which deserved a goal was Louis Hughes' sensational run which saw him take on 6 Shamwickshire players only to blast the ball well over the bar. The second half was much more open with both sides tiring due to the emense heat, Kingsteignton changed the game when the fresh legs of Paul Rice and Nathan Williams were brought into the game, Kingsteignton took the lead just after 70 minutes when Gareth Law latched onto a huge goalkick, the goal was awarded as an owngoal due to the defender getting the last touch, Kinsteignton made it two shortly after, from the penalty spot when Gareth Law was pulled down in the six yard box, Louis Hughes stepped up and scored from the spot to make it 2-0, Shamwickshire got a goal back to setup a tense finish, Kingsteignton could have sealed the game late on as Joe Edworthy hit the post with his first touch since coming on as a sub, then Nik Garrett blazed over the bar from close range.

Chagford 1 - Kingsteignton Athletic 4
As early as the ninth minute, the hosts found themselves behind to a goal straight out of the crazy goal book. Scarry and Forsey both waited for each other to clear the ball, with the keepers clearance cannoning of the defenders then into the back of the net. From there on Chagford played some stylist football but without conviction, Kingsteignton made it 0-2 five minutes before the break when Gareth Law scored his fourth of the season, Kingsteignton made it 0-3 three minutes into the second half when Gareth Law continued his fine goal scoring form, Kingsteignton continued to dominate and made it 4-0 in the 62nd minute thanks to Matthew Joy, Chagford went on to gain a consolation 12minutes from time, Kingsteignton now turn there attentions to Shamwickshire Rovers in the Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup next saturday.

A poor day for Kingsteignton who were outmuscled and outclassed by a young and fast Newton United, Kingsteignton can have no complaints about the scoreline. 10 minutes into the game stand-in keeper Shaun Grice was lobbed from inside the the oppositions half, Newton United went two up shortly after, Kingsteignton defenders failing to deal with a high ball, the Second half Kings put more pressure on the Newton United defence but were caught on the counter attack, Kingsteignton were awarded a penalty which was scored by Joe Edworthy, Newton United went on to score 2 more goals late on.

Kingsteignton Ath 3 - Totnes & Darts Res 5

Kingsteignton took the lead within the first 60 seconds thanks to Nathan Issac,scoring from 10yrds after Gareth law had his shot parried away, The game was close throughout the first half, Kingsteignton were sloppy at the back and were made to pay three times by Totnes, the second half Kingsteignton upped the tempo and Gareth Law scored early after some good build up with strike partner Mike Sanders. immediately Totnes restored there advantage.Gareth Law got his second of the game when he rifled home from inside box. Kingsteignton had an opportunity to level the score from the penalty spot after Gareth Law was brought down. Mike Sanders took the spot kick which was saved, Kings kept working but whilst pushing for a goal they were caught by Totnes and Darts the game finished 5-3 to T&D Res.
Kingsteignton Ath Res 2 - HMPS Channings Wood 1
Kingsteignton started the game well and dominated possession throughout the game, Channings Wood did not find any rhythm amd struggled to deal with Kingsteignton's passing Nathan Williams hit the bar after 20mins. Kingsteignton took the lead when Mickey Cox latched onto a Louis Hughes corner. Channings Wood equalised after Kingsteignton lost concentration. The second half started the same as the first Kingsteignton scored early on after the Channings Wood keeper couldnt hold onto Louis Hughes' strike Graham Disbury pounced for his first goal of the season. The game had to be abandoned after 60 minutes due to an injury to a Channings Wood Player.

Kingsteignton travelled to Clennon Valley missing a some key players Curtis Beetschen, Nathan Williams, Graham Disbury, all unavailable and Andy Bujis cup-tied, Kingsteignton faced an uphill struggle from the very start with no subs available, Kingsteignton played some good football at times but were overrun by a very good Stoke Gabriel side, who seemed able to score at will, Kingsteignton will host HMPS Channings Wood in there first home game next saturday in an early 11:30am kick-off.

The first round of the Herald Cup drew Kingsteignton at home to Channings Wood this in itself has caused quite an uproar with prisoners unavailable for the match, Channings wood have had to look for players willing to play only away ties, Kingsteignton started the game well and dominated possession throughout the game though Channings Wood defended valiantly goals from Matt Joy, Jason Miller and Andrew Bujis were enough to see Kingsteignton through to the next round.

Kingsteignton Ath 5 - Georgeham & Croyde 1
The first round of the Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup, Kingsteignton started well and took the lead 10 minutes into the game after Gareth Law rounded the keeper, Kingsteignton continued to press and were rewarded with a second goal 20 minutes in, Matt Joy pick the the ball in the oppositions box beat two defenders, the shot went under the keepers arms. The game was even. through the rest of the first half, late on Daryl Kewley had a superb individual goal disallowed, after tackling the Georgeham goalkeeper. The second half began with a goal for Kingsteignton inside the first five minutes Gareth Law getting his second of the game. Matt Joy got his brace with a rare header after a great cross from Nik Garrett. Georgeham got a consolation after 80 minutes, before Gareth Law notched his first hat-trick of the season the goal very similar to the first goal of the game, a long ball from the keeper and Law slotting in from 10yards.

Buckland Athletic Res 4 - Kingsteignton Res 0
Kingsteignton travelled to league favorites Buckland Athletic, Buckland passed the ball superbly in the first 10 minutes and scored within the first five minutes, the game was stretched through the first half with the home side going in 3-0 up. the second half Kingsteignton piled pressure onto the Buckland defence with Kurtis Marshall coming very close to a goal of the season contender before being tipped over by the Buckland veteren Simon Dungey, the game finished 4-0 to Buckland, though it sounds like a drumming Kingsteignton can take alot of positives from the game.
Kingsteignton Ath 2 - Totnes & Darts Res 2

Kingsteignton started well, but fell behind to a penalty following a challenge from Svend Johannsen, and were caught out again whilst pushing for an equaliser before half time. Nik Garrett bundled home from a right wing free kick to halve T & D’s lead before the break. In the second half, Kingsteignton continued to push to get something out of a scrappy game, and the equaliser came from Svend Johannsen not long from the end of the match after he had been moved up front to give more attacking options.

Kingsteignton Ath 2 - Newton Abbot Spurs 1

Kingsteignton entertained Newton Abbot Spurs, both teams called on a couple of players from higher divisions, to fill in, the game was played a ferocious pace with both teams attacking, Kingsteignton took the lead after 40 minutes through Gareth Law and went in at half time 1-0 up. The second half started much better for Newton Spurs who put Kingsteignton under pressure from the off. Spurs equalised after an hour after a goalline scramble, the game continued at a very fast pace, Kingsteignton were awarded a penalty after Andy Davey brought down Lee Chapman after a surging run towards goal. Mike Sanders stepped up and coolly finished for his 3rd league goal in 2 games. Kingsteignton held there nerve for the last couple of minutes, Kingsteignton play Totnes and Dartington Reserves on saturday, with the return of former players Daniel Chilcott and Tommy Black.

Meadowbrook Ath 0 - Kingsteignton Res 2

Kingsteignton travelled to meadowbrook without a keeper due to injuries and unavailability, Meadowbrook dominated possession but lacked the cutting edge in front of goal. Kingsteignton took the lead through Joe Edworthy after 30mins due to a precise through ball from Andy Buijs, The second half was similar to the first Meadowbrook had lots of possession, but couldn't produce a final ball. Kings doubled their lead from a fantastic 25yd lob from Andy Buijs after 75mins. Kingsteignton now turn there attentions to the upcoming match against Buckland Athletic Reserves.
Kingsteignton Athletic 3 - East Allington 3
Kingsteignton had to call on 3rd team keeper Ross Buckler due to an injury to Russell Faulkner and Kingsteignton started the game positively and scored within the first 60 seconds through Matt Joy, Kingsteignton went in a half time 3-1 up thanks to goals from player manager Matt Joy and two penalties from Mike Sanders, The game finished 3-3. Kingsteignton now look forward to Tuesdays local derby with Newton Abbot Spurs.

Kingskerswell & Chelston 5 Kingsteignton Res 2

Kingsteignton Athletic Reserves winning streak came to a grinding holt as they lost 5-2 by a far more determined Kingskerswell and Chelston side who found themselves 4-0 up by half time. Kings came more into the game in the second half when Rick Reynolds scored from the penalty spot, Ashley Beetschen scored a second before Rick Reynolds hit the post with his second spot kick, Kings battled hard in the second half but cant give teams a 4-0 head start before you start playing.

Kingsteignton Res 1 - Galmpton United Res 0
Kingsteignton Athletic continued to move up the table after their fourth straight win, against title favorites Galmpton United. The first half was dominated by Galmpton United and Kingsteignton had to battle hard all over the pitch as Galmpton we're constantly threatening to take the lead, at half time the score was 0-0 . Only a minute into the second half Kingsteignton broke through some very neat interplay before Oli Bentley blazed over from close range, the second half was an even battle throughout before, Kingsteignton took the lead through a great strike on the edge of the box by Oli Bentley. The game finished 1-0 to Kingsteignton who have moved up to eighth in the league.
Bishopsteignton 2 - Kingsteignton Athletic 0
Bishopsteignton entertained local rivals kingsteignton athletic in what should have been a good contest after Kingsteignton's narrow 3-2 victory earlier in the season. Bishopsteignton took the lead int the first half, before Kings keeper Sean Hunter was given his marching orders for diliberate handball, the game finished 2-0 to Bishopsteignton, Kingsteignton will look to bounce back from a disappointing result next week when the face high flyers Chagford who were also on the end of a defeat to Bovey Tracey.

South Brent 2 Kingsteignton Res 3
Kingsteignton Athletic reserves pulled off their third win in a row, away to South Brent in difficult weather conditions the game started evenly for 10 minutes, Kingsteignton then started getting the ball out wide with both Louis Hughes and Rick Reynolds looking dangerous, Kings took the lead after 25 minutes after Joe Edworthy latched onto the end of a Louis Hughes cross, within 10 minutes of the restart Rik Reynolds broke away and slotted away for his third goal in three games, the second half was a different story Kingsteignton were on the back for most of the half after South Brent pulled the score back to 2-1 from the penalty spot, South Brent should have equalised from a header only to be denied by a remarkable save from Russell Faulkner, Kingsteignton now sit in 11th position just two points behind South Brent with three games in hand.

Upton Athletic moved into third place after a brace of goals each from Mark Loram and Louis Burgin helped them to a 4-1 win at Kingsteignton Athletic. Daniel Endicott replied for the home side.

Liverton United Res 1 - Kingsteignton Res 4
Kingsteignton Athletic Reserves travelled to Liverton United in a 6 point game with both sides tiltering just above the relegation zone. Kings started brightly but conceded early through a well worked corner, at half time the score 1-0. the second half Kingsteignton's fitness really began to show, Rik Reynolds drew Kings level, before Liam Price pounced on a long ball, Ashley Beetschen made it 3-1 with his third goal in two games, with Joe Edworthy making it 4-1 from the penalty spot late on.

After two weeks off through bad weather, Kingsteignton Athletic hosted Torbay Gents, Sean Hunter was added late to the first team after the first team keeper Jamie Howarth could not make the game. Kingsteignton went in at half time 1-0 up the second half Kingsteignton really moved through the gears. Kingsteignton finished the game with a 6-0 victory with a hat-trick from both Rob Kerr and Gareth Law (his fourth hattrick of the season).

Kingsteignton Ath Vs Ipplepen Ath Abandoned
Kingsteignton Athletic hosted an underperforming Ipplepen Athletic side, the game started well and was a very open game, at half time Kings went in 2-0 down. but were by no means out of the contest, The second half half started at a high tempo from kingsteignton when only Sven Johansson delivered a great cross which hit the post before Gareth Law slotted home to make it 2-1 kingsteignton continued to press and quickly equalised. Ipplepen then regained the lead scoring there 2nd goal from a set peice. Kingsteignton were pressing constant when they were awarded a penalty, unfortunately this was never taken due to some ugly scenes on the pitch the match had to be abandoned after 80minutes with 2 Ipplepen players being sent off as well as numerous police vehicals and an ambulance. During this incident a Kingsteignton player had to be taken to hospital with a serious injury.
