(Taken from the Herald Express) Waldon Athletic have climbed back off the foot of the table after claiming their second win in three games. They beat Kingsteignton 2-1 thanks to a goal in each half from Ryan Hare and Shane Gagg.
After hitting the angle of the goalposts with an overhead kick five minutes earlier, Hare slotted the opener from 14 yards following a fine solo run. But despite dominating for large parts of the match, Waldon had to wait until ten minutes from time to add a second. And what a bizarre goal it was – keeper John Howes' long goal-kick went straight through to opposite number Russ Faulkner, but the Kingsteignton goalie let the ball slip through his fingers and after a desperate attempt to palm it away from danger, Gagg was there to hammer home. Chris Hewart scored a late consolation for Kingsteignton.
