Ellis gets England Colleges call-up

SECOND-YEAR South Devon College Football Academy student and Kingsteignton Athletic midfielder Jake Ellis has been named in the 16-strong England Colleges squad to face home and away games against the Welsh Colleges next month.

The 18-year-old from Paignton will initially be involved next weekend when the English players meet up for the away game at Porthmadog on Monday week.

And he will also report for the home game at the FA's training and rehabilitation centre at Lilleshall the following Monday, despite receiving a head injury in the final trial at RAF Cosford.

In fact, Ellis was on the pitch for only 15 minutes against an RAF Select when he needed hospital treatment after accidentally being caught by a stud.
